Here I’m trying Neocolor wax pastels (some people even mix them with oil pastels) for the first time. I’ve set some timestamps so you can skip to the fun parts if you want. In today's video I'm going through all my art supplies and organize my little studio (there's some decluttering as well). It's a bit strange to show all of this since for some it will be way too much and for others may even feel quite small. Any way some of you requested to see my art materials so I hope you like it. Everyone say that the paint ing is so perfect But me thought 🤔 who is she😅😅😊
I’m so sad I found you too late to get in on your patreon oil pastel training. Happy to at least have your wonderful RUclips channel. I do hope you eventually offer the guide somehow again! Your art is incredible!❤
wow, gorgeous. you must have experience with other media and portraiture for this being only your second time!
Thank you! Yes, of course ☺️ I’ve been painting portraits for years with other materials
AWESOME! 💯 Say, do you use regular paper for watercolors? I'm planning on drawing one in my sketchbook and I don't wanna damage other work art.
Thank you! Yes, if I use watercolor even as a base I’ll paint on watercolor paper. This is arches hot pressed watercolor paper that I made into a sketchbook
@@YolandaBlazquez Thank you! 😊
Очень красиво .❤
Nacho
How did you learn to draw like that?cause I find it hard to learn oil pastel
This is insanely beautiful! Thank you for sharing :)
You are so welcome! Thank you ❤️
Omg...that is incredible. It looks like a photo. I cant imagine being that talented. Absolutely beautiful. And the young woman is beautiful too.
You are so kind, thank you ❤️ but I believe anyone can do it
This is the most magnificent drawing and coloring that I have ever seen! I have Neo ll’s and a small set of Neo l’s. This is the first time I’ve seen them used like this…. Dry. Stunning! I wish I knew how to draw and shade so I could try this. I’m still learning how to draw pencil portraits. I love your talent! ❤❤❤❤ How did you sharpen them with such a nice point?
Thank you so much! You’re very kind ❤️ it takes time but if you want you can practice shading and drawing in monochrome with just one Neocolor as well, depending on how much pressure you add, you get a nice range of values. I sharpen them with a regular sharpener, the kind that has two holes for different pencils sizes
@@YolandaBlazquez Thank you. I may try that. What kind of paper did you use? I just love watching this!
Beautifully done and a wonderful demonstration. I’m curious, what do you use to sharpen the neo colors? Do you have a sharpener or do you use a knife?
Thanks a lot! I use a sharpener, it’s much more convenient. It needs to be one for bigger pencils
Jolanda 🤗💓
Beautiful painting

@@YolandaBlazquez 🙏🙏😊 YOU are very very welcome Yolanda 😍🫶
Love it so cute🥰
So glad that you liked it 🥰
@@YolandaBlazquez Yes of course im one of your subscribers and so much to know about your painting style 🥰
Impressed with how this turned out and really enjoyed watching it unfold in this video. I am not surprised you are approached so often by companies. You have an obvious creative talent.
Thank you so much! I think it has more to do with reach and audience than it does with the quality or lack of it 🙈
I don't know how you do it. I cannot get these to lay down well on any surface I try. I only have 10, and I guess it's going to stay that way! I enjoyed watching your process though! Thanks for sharing.
Oh that's weird. Mine glide in any paper and they feel very buttery. But this happens to me with the luminance. Everyone says they are buttery and soft and mine are dry and sound like pastel pencils, not buttery at all. Maybe they are duds
I’m surprised by that! Could they be old? They go for me even on this satiny paper (Moleskine sketchbook)
Uh I have quite a number of luminance pencils and I find some are soft and powdery dry (not waxy) while others are straight scratchy
Honestly I do not watch sponsored content at all, maybe because I am envy. I have never recived any offers myself. Honestly at this point I would refuse too, unless there will be something I want to buy anyways. Or got payed on top of art supplies because there is just to much work to produce the video, to make it for free. One more thing I actually saw much smaller chanels than mine get freebies, but not me.
Please don’t be offended, many things like the language of your channel and your audience have a big play in whether companies reach out to you or not, and have nothing to do with the quality of your work. What you’ve mentioned bothers me probably the most, making a painting, record it nicely and edit it takes maaaaany hours, and all of that is unpaid work, basically free for them.
@@YolandaBlazquez yes, exactly, takes too much time and energy.
@@YolandaBlazquez yeh, i know. I just hate how companies operate. So let say I live in US, but make videos in Russian. So nobody will sponsor me, because russian companies can't send me their stuff and US can't send me theirs because it is different market. But it is ok I don't need companies. Let say Artixx send free stuff both US and russian art blogers but will not send it to me because I am not one or another.😅
Yeah 😅 that could happen but I think the language is the biggest barrier. I’m in the Czech Republic but it helps that my videos are in English
@@YolandaBlazquezno listen, russians get free offers all the time too, there are a lot of slavic speaking people around the globe I bet there are at least half a billion. The shipping is the problem there is no shiping between Russia and US. Anyway you are the great example you can grow without bs free art supplies sponsors. 😂
Beautiful painting. The struggle brings everything.
I like the way you gently layer them.I tried this technic with Crayola last year but they do not layer unfortunatletly. I need to try neocolors in the future.
I have no idea, I don’t think I ever tried Crayolas, we had Plastidecor and it was too many years ago to remember 🤣 but these layer very nicely in my opinion
I confess, I have never dared to color green, blue, and purple with skin tone. Because I'm not sure if it will turn out well or not. How much quantity is required and how? But this is a good observation in your clip. Thanks for showing it to me and it's great. Mariss :)
I can relate! It takes a while and just to give it a go, the worst thing that can happen is that you don’t like the result but you can always start over. In this case was easy because the photo already showed many blue and purple shades in his skin. I love purples in shadows regardless ☺️
so nice 🥰🤩😍
Thank you 🥰🥰
what brand of oil pastel do u use?
Lovely demonstration 😊 I’m still not a crayon fan. When it comes to sponsored content I’m not opposed to it if it’s for materials you care about and have the freedom to make the content of your choice. Some companies try be dictatorial about the video in exchange for the materials so I can understand the hesitancy.
Thanks a lot! 🥰 Even more if you don’t like crayons, I never thought I would. Thats one of the reasons but it’s also difficult to clearly say the things that you don’t like about a “free” product, although actually it’s not free at all, you just don’t pay for it with money
@@YolandaBlazquezRight you pay for it with your labor, especially if your channel is already succesful and influential this is not a fair trade.
Beautiful precious moments❤ Looking forward to watching (and rewatching) you painting in this video!
Thank you so much! ❤ Personal (even if little) projects like this are always my favorite works

Beautiful work!
Thank you!
I would have liked to have seen the finished painting. It was looking absolutely amazing. You are a very talented artist. Your drawing was so beautiful. And I enjoyed learning about the Neocolor II pastels, I had never seen an artist use them before.
Thank you so much! I think they are pretty popular in mix media works but with a different approach than mine, with bolder marks
I’m so sad I just found you and missed a chance at your patreon but it is extremely respectable you are doing what is best for you. I look forward to watching new videos from you!! You’ve really inspired me to pick up and learn my oil pastels again.
Thank you so much for understanding ☺️ when the weather is less melting hot I may pick up my oil pastels again and share some videos, in the meantime I prefer less messy paints like the Neocolors or watercolors, colored pencils etc
@@YolandaBlazquez I totally get it. It’s nice to play with other materials also. I personally love watercolors and gouache and ink and pencil outside of oil pastels.
Glorious! A true artist 🧑🎨
You're so professional a artist ❤❤❤... You painting oil pastel so smoothly and painting ❤❤❤❤.!!!

She is so soft and beautiful. Wonderful work. Truly impressive.

Incredible to think you got that much blendable tooth on simple 8x11 copy paper! This is the only stuff I ever had growing up and intend to try it again now! Easy Subscription btw …thank you !
Thank you! I think regular printing paper is sooo versatile, cheap and underrated, it works for many dry media and markers
Hi, Yolanda❤ Oh, it's the same pastel You used when You drew a bird? Wax pastel! The painting is so beautiful💓Thank you for the review video. And I bought a table easel after watching your video the other day. Thank you very much.💕
Yes, I used the same wax pastels for the bird ☺ thank you! ❤ I hope you enjoy the easel
انتي بارعة جدا باستخدام الباستيل الزيتي اتمنى لك التوفيق والنجاح. وأرجو ان تضيفي ترجمه اللغة العربية لو سمحتي 🙏
Hi Yolanda❤ RUclips auto translation is a mess, So I couldn't understand you exactly, Anyway your painting is so beautiful🐦💚 You Are a realy Diamond Hand! (In Korea, a good hand at drawing is called a golden hand.) Is this video product Caran d'ache colored pencil ? Or are they crayons?
Thank you so much! I forgot to manually add subtitles, sorry 🙈 I used Caran d’Ache Neocolor II, these are wax pastels or crayons
@@YolandaBlazquez I'm fine automatic captioning! Yolanda, thank you always 💗💗
How do they compare to soft oil pastel like gallery? I feel like these wax crayons are easy to control and stick to paper better but they don’t lay down much like oil pastel and not easy to get a uniform layer.
I don’t think they are similar to oil pastels at all, only that they both offer bright colors but the application and look is very different in my opinion. And these don’t blend much if any.
It was so perfect to me...but I am no professional.
That’s fine, I believe art is for everyone and what matters is if you personally like something or not ☺️ thank you!
so great
